The Monkey King Conquers the Demon

Sun Wukong is imprisoned beneath a mountain for 500 years as punishment for rebelling against the heavens. He remains trapped until the monk Tang Sanzang appears and frees him, sparking a tense but growing partnership between master and disciple.

Tang Sanzang frees the Monkey King, and they come to respect one another. The Monkey King agrees to help him on the arduous Westward pilgrimage and to become his disciple. They are later joined along the journey by Pigsy and Sandy.

A group of demons plots to attack Tang Sanzang and eat his flesh for immortality. The White Bone Demon Baigujing arrives and warns them that the Monkey King is Tang Sanzang's powerful disciple, making their plan seem risky. Her warning sets the stage for later confrontations as the demons try to subdue the monk through deception.

Baigujing disguises herself as an innocent-looking beautiful woman and asks to travel with them. Though the group is wary, she is accepted into the caravan.

The Monkey King sees through the disguise and attacks her, leaving her apparently dead. This enrages Tang Sanzang, who scolds the Monkey King for attacking an ostensibly innocent woman.

Later, they encounter a young child who claims to have lost his mother; the Monkey King again senses a demon in disguise and attacks. The demon tricks him and escapes, reappearing as an elderly man before Tang.

Believing the old man to be harmless, the Monkey King attacks again, but Tang defends the old man and the demon escapes. The monk then rejects the Monkey King as his disciple, and the two part ways.

The Monkey King flies back to his homeland and finds his people ravaged by Heaven during his 500-year absence. He calls upon the gods to help rebuild his home and restore his people.

Tang, Pigsy, and Sandy reach a Buddhist temple, where Baigujing launches an attack and captures Tang and Sandy. Pigsy escapes to warn the Monkey King.

The Monkey King chooses not to return with Pigsy at first, then follows in secret. He tricks Baigujing into thinking he is her mother, the Nine-Tailed Vixen, and defeats her, freeing Monk Tang.

Seeing the Monkey King's truth, Tang Sanzang asks for his forgiveness, which he grants. The two reconcile, and the Monkey King is accepted as Tang's disciple.

With forgiveness, the group resumes their journey toward the West, strengthened by trust in the Monkey King's loyalty. They continue their pilgrimage as a united team for the road ahead.
