Dr. Mukherjee, a respected civil surgeon in a remote tribal district, is adored by locals for treating the poor. His compassion pits him against Laxman Lal, the ruthless heir who covets a widowed woman. She seeks refuge with Mukherjee, drawing him deeper into the community’s struggles. To the tribals he is a near‑god; to Laxman a sworn enemy.
