In a small German village near the Rhine, the boarding school is plagued by the murders of its female students every full moon. Locals blame a water spirit called the Lorelei, said to reside in a grotto beneath the Rhine and transform into a bloodthirsty monster when the moon is full. The eerie legend sets the stage for the looming threat.

Teacher Elke Ackerman hires veteran hunter Sigurd to guard the boarding school against the killer. Sigurd imposes a strict 9 o'clock curfew, orders all windows and doors locked, and forbids anyone from leaving the school grounds during that time. The plan is to keep the students safe under the looming full-moon threat.

During a late-night patrol, Sigurd spots a mysterious cloaked woman who slips away when she notices him. He pursues her but she disappears before he can catch her. The encounter plants a gnawing suspicion that she is connected to the killings.

Later that night, Sigurd encounters the cloaked woman bathing in a nearby lake but cannot seize her. The chase deepens the mystery surrounding the Lorelei and her true nature. Sigurd becomes determined to uncover who she is.

Sigurd meets Professor Von Lander, who has been studying the creature for some time. Lander explains that the Lorelei can transform into a monster under the full moon and that an irradiated dagger can revert her to human form. He begins hinting at a possible way to stop her, setting the stage for a clash of science and superstition.

A small hunting party is slaughtered by the creature in the surrounding woods. The deaths confirm the creature's deadly reach and force the town to confront the danger. Sigurd's resolve to stop Lorelei intensifies.

It is revealed that the mysterious woman stalking Sigurd is the Lorelei herself. Sigurd, under Lorelei's influence, refuses to believe she is responsible for the killings. His affection for her complicates his judgment and shields him from the truth.

While under Lorelei's control, Sigurd accidentally reveals Von Lander's involvement in the investigation. Lorelei seizes the moment to silence him and erase the scientist's credibility. The discovery marks a turning point where the hunter's allies become suspect and the threat grows closer to home.

Lorelei and her human servant Alberic murder Von Lander to prevent anyone from stopping her. They destroy his research, ensuring no one can easily expose the truth about her curse. The loss of the scientist removes a potential obstacle in Lorelei's plans.

While diving, Sigurd discovers an underwater cave that leads to a hidden temple. The temple is inhabited by Lorelei, Alberic, and a hoard of feral women who guard their lair. This revelation centers the struggle on the temple and its dark power.

Sigurd is captured during his discovery and restrained in the temple. Lorelei heads toward the boarding school to claim Elke, confident in her growing control over Sigurd. The danger intensifies as the assault moves from the cave to the surface.

Lorelei returns to the boarding school with the intention of murdering Elke, driven by Sigurd's reported feelings for the teacher. The staff and students brace for a Moonlit attack as the fear escalates. Sigurd's mission to protect Elke becomes personal and urgent.

One of the feral women comes to Sigurd's aid, sacrificing herself along with the temple's feral inhabitants as the detonated dynamite Sigurd had prepared explodes. The temple's collapse ends Lorelei's lair and halts the immediate threat. The feral fight marks a grim, self-sacrificing end to the temple's power.

Sigurd arrives at the boarding house armed with the irradiated dagger. He corners Lorelei and slays her before she can claim Elke, ending the full-moon terror. With Lorelei defeated, the threat to the village and the school is finally over.
