Inspector Blomfield apprehends a thief who crashes fatally while fleeing. Soon after, his drug‑addicted brother Johnny bursts into the police station where Blomfield is probing a murder, brandishing nitroglycerine and threatening to blow everyone up. By the time Blomfield reaches the station, his colleagues have already subdued the frantic brother.
