Two sisters clash: the elder upholds tradition, the younger lives as a modern ‘moga’. Their widowed father runs a debt‑ridden sake shop, falsifying stock, while his longtime mistress seeks a serious bond. A university suitor meets older sister but is drawn to younger; a grandfather, uncle and nosy neighbours hinder family attempt to keep the shop.
