Walter enters a ventriloquist act with a teddy, while Dennis performs with a prisoner-themed dummy. The dummy’s screams are revealed to come from a parrot trapped inside, escalating the Softies’ performance with a string quartet. Dennis, Gnasher, Curly, and Pie-Face turn the softies into living puppets, and a broken branch sends everyone tumbling as the fleas on Gnasher induce a frenzied dance that wins first prize.

The Three Bears head out to find dinner and steal Hank’s horse to haul gear. They end up at sea after a fall, chased by a shark, and later stumble upon a cowboy barbecue on land. Ma and Pa disguise Ted as a cowboy and launch the cook’s roast, but coyotes grab the roast and they return home hungry to find their porridge missing—blame shifts to the missing horse.

Minnie Chairs

Minnie turns chairs into playground props, trampolines, and even a makeshift mountain. She builds an armchair chariot pulled by neighborhood dogs, crashes, and is dragged to the shop to buy a new chair. In the shop she crashes into a reclining chair that locks her in place, much to her dad’s delight.

Soap Box Cart ride

Dennis’s dad misses a doctor’s appointment because of his bandaged wrist, so Dennis offers to take him there in a homemade cart. The ride is rough; Dad is bumped, soaked, and even run over, but they still reach the appointment and the wrist appears fully healed, save for the bandage.

Lake Beautiful voyage

Plug is mocked as the ugliest boy in Bash Street. A plan to make him handsome backfires as a mask proves insufficient and the Keeper traps the class in a snowball and launches them into Lake Beautiful in Tibet. They encounter a strange igloo Burger Bar and, guided by monks, reach the lake where most students metamorphose into Plug-like faces, while Plug himself is spared.

Scorcher the dragon

Ted’s cave reveals a baby dragon, later named Scorcher, who is put to work finding food for the bears. Scorcher burns the wall of Hank’s store to reach a chicken and helps cook it back home, but the dragon’s indigestion scorches Pa’s face by accident.
