The Aztec Mummy

Dr. Eduardo Almada presents his controversial views on hypnosis and past lives before a panel of neuropsychiatrists. The scientists respond with sharp skepticism, doubting the validity and rigor of his method. Realizing he needs solid proof, Almada resolves to test his theories on his fiancée Flor, who volunteers.

Under hypnosis, Flor reveals memories of her past life as Xochitl, the Aztec woman destined for sacrifice. She recalls a forbidden romance with the warrior Popoca and the punishment that followed. The revelation sets the stakes by linking present peril to a legendary tomb and a buried treasure.

Seeing the potential proof for his theory, Almada enlists several scientists to pursue the tomb using Flor's memories as a guide. The team agrees to travel together, combining memory, archaeology, and modern science. They assemble resources and prepare for a perilous expedition.

The team follows Flor's past-life clues and discovers the secret entrance to the tomb. They navigate to the burial chambers, uncovering ancient architecture and a hidden passage. The revelation confirms the plausibility of Xochitl's story and the existence of the treasure described on the artifacts.

Within the tomb, the scientists uncover Xochitl's bones and the sacred artifacts—the golden breastplate and armband—that serve as keys to a hidden treasure. They retrieve the breastplate and begin to study the inscriptions linking to a greater hoard. Unbeknownst to them, Popoca has followed them and remains latent in the darkness.

Returning to the city, Almada presents the initial discovery to the group. They uncover a series of hieroglyphics etched into the breastplate describing a vast treasure unlocked by the armband. The scientific team grows more confident, setting in motion a dangerous plan to retrieve the relics.

Before the group can depart to retrieve the armband, Popoca arrives and attacks, forcing the team to flee. They barely escape with the breastplate still in their possession. The encounter confirms the cursed warrior's persistence and deepens the peril surrounding the mission.

The Bat's henchmen are dispatched to retrieve the breastplate, which the group has brought to Flor's house for safekeeping. The confrontation escalates, but Popoca slaughters the intruders, retrieves the breastplate, and abducts Flor himself.

With Flor in tow, Popoca makes his way back to the tomb to perform the ritual sacrifice that would end his curse on immortality. The stakes are personal now, centering on Flor as the reincarnation of Xochitl. Almada and the others trail behind, determined to intervene.

Arriving at the tomb, Almada confronts the enraged mummy, managing to hold him at bay with a crucifix while Flor is rescued. The clash between science, faith, and myth unfolds in the tomb's shadowy corridors. The treasure remains tantalizingly out of reach as danger intensifies.

Popoca lunges at the trio, but Dr. Sepúlveda sacrifices himself by detonating nearby dynamite to seal the tomb, collapsing the burial chamber. The act entombs Popoca and ends the immediate threat. The group escapes, bearing heavy losses and a ruined sanctuary.

With the danger behind them, Flor is freed from her past-life bond and returns to civilization with Almada. They reflect on how science and myth intertwined to drive their ordeal. The relationship between the two deepens as they move forward together.

In the aftermath, Krupp is revealed to be The Bat, the mastermind who spied on the group throughout the expedition. He is arrested by the police, bringing the conspiracy to light. The case closes on a note of justice, albeit at a significant personal cost.
