Marvin Mange is introduced as a timid and clumsy man with a dream of becoming a police officer like his father. Unfortunately, his current role as a trainee in the evidence room at a small-town police station seems far from that aspiration.

Despite his dedicated efforts, Marvin continuously struggles to complete the physical examination required to become a full-fledged police officer. This setback weighs heavily on his self-esteem and adds to his feelings of inadequacy.

During one isolated day at the station, Marvin receives an urgent call about a robbery. With all the actual officers busy at a softball game, he impulsively decides to respond on his own, marking the start of his unexpected adventure.

In a hasty attempt to reach the robbery scene, Marvin swerves to avoid a seal on the road and tumbles over a cliff. This accident leaves him critically injured and sets the stage for a strange transformation in his life.

Marvin is rescued by the eccentric Dr. Wilder, a mad scientist who reconstructs his body using various animal parts. This radical procedure grants Marvin extraordinary animal-like abilities that he is initially unaware of.

Months later, Marvin begins to notice his amazing new capabilities as he can outrun horses and intimidate aggressive dogs. Unbeknownst to him, these transformations stem from the animalistic traits he has inherited.

Marvin meets Rianna at the park while she is walking dogs from her animal shelter. During a friendly frisbee game, he unexpectedly leaps to catch it, revealing his unusual animalistic instincts to her for the first time.

While confiding in his friend Miles at the airport about his odd issues, Marvin uses his extraordinary sense of smell to detect a man concealing heroin. This act of heroism not only surprises everyone but also earns him a promotion.

As time passes, Marvin’s animal instincts begin to overwhelm him, leading to bizarre situations such as waking up in strange locations. His friend Dr. Wilder becomes increasingly concerned about the ramifications of Marvin's transformations.

At a party held by the Mayor, Marvin's frantic chase after a cat causes a major disturbance, resulting in his immediate dismissal from the police force. This incident raises serious questions about his suitability as an officer.

In a surprising twist, while being reprimanded, Marvin leaps into a lake to save the Mayor’s son using his animalistic abilities, which leads to his prompt reinstatement as a police officer. This act showcases his potential, despite his previous missteps.

As animal attacks plague the local farms, Chief Wilson begins to suspect Marvin, especially since the police sketch eerily resembles him. Meanwhile, Marvin, in fear, barricades himself at home as Rianna arrives to offer support.

After another night of turmoil, Marvin and Rianna flee into the woods together when police arrive for a manhunt against Marvin. Their frantic escape leads to intense moments of fear and uncertainty as the community turns against them.

In a moment of desperation, as Sgt. Sisk prepares to take action against Marvin, Miles intervenes, confessing his own struggles and taking responsibility for the situation. His brave act causes the mob to redirect their anger.
