The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Scientist Richard Parker records a video message to detail his mysterious disappearance while simultaneously destroying much of his important research. This research was focused on spiders and genetic mutations, critical for Oscorp, hinting at the dangerous secrets he held.

While flying on a private jet, Richard and his wife Mary are attacked by an assassin sent to eliminate him. In a fierce struggle for control, the assassin kills the pilot and shoots Mary, leading to a chaotic fight for survival.

Richard, in a heroic act, manages to eject the assailant from the plane but ultimately must face a tragic fate as the plane crashes. Before the crash, Richard ensures that all his critical research is uploaded to a satellite server named Roosevelt.

Years later, Richard and Mary's son, Peter Parker, has become Spider-Man, actively fighting crime in New York City. He swiftly captures Aleksei Sytsevich, who attempts to steal plutonium vials from an Oscorp truck.

During a tumultuous incident, Peter saves the terrified Max Dillon from an out-of-control truck. This act of heroism ensures that the plutonium vials remain safe, showcasing Peter's commitment to being a vigilant protector.

In a heartfelt phone conversation with Gwen, Peter sees the ghost of her late father, George Stacy, who warns him to protect Gwen from the dangers associated with being Spider-Man. This moment serves as a reminder of the responsibilities and risks Peter faces.

Harry Osborn returns to Manhattan to care for his ailing father, Norman. After Norman's death, Harry reluctantly assumes control of Oscorp, thrust into a leadership role while battling his own health issues.

As Harry's illness worsens, he becomes increasingly desperate for a cure. This desperation drives him to seek Spider-Man's help, creating a tense alliance that ultimately spirals into conflict.

Max, now with electric powers, wreaks havoc in Times Square, forcing Spider-Man to intervene. The confrontation escalates tensions as Peter faces an adversary he helped create amidst the wreckage.

During a fierce battle at a clock tower, Harry Osborn, now the Green Goblin, takes Gwen's life, resulting in one of Peter's most heartbreaking moments. This tragedy shatters his resolve and leads him to retreat from his role as Spider-Man.
