A diplomat (Arroyo Carrillo) departs for Europe, but his ship is sunk by a German U‑boat. In Mexico, his girlfriend Lupita (Cota) receives the telegram and seeks solace with the Virgin of Guadalupe. After reading the saint’s story she falls asleep, only to awaken to news that he survived. They journey to Tepeyac to thank the Virgin for the miracle.
