Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy

The film, the first official “model” production of the Chinese Cultural Revolution (1966‑1976), adapts a 1950s novel that was originally staged as a revolutionary opera. Set in 1946 during the civil war, it follows a People’s Liberation Army detachment in Manchuria as they hunt a gang of bandits concealed in the mountains.
