Sunshine on Leith

The film opens with an APC patrol in Afghanistan under heavy fire. Davy Henshaw and Ally, along with the other soldiers, are terrified for their survival as the ambush unfolds.

Some time after their deployment, Davy and Ally are discharged and return to Edinburgh to be with their families. They face the quiet, complicated transition from soldier to civilian life.

On their first night back, Liz introduces Davy to her English friend Yvonne at a pub. They swap drunken stories and jokes, and the lively Scottish pub banter hints at new connections forming.
