Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Poe Dameron obtains a map to Luke Skywalker's location. First Order storms Jakku to capture Poe; his droid BB-8 escapes with the map.

In the assault, Kylo Ren tortures Poe to extract information about BB-8. Finn, a stormtrooper who questions orders, saves Poe and helps them escape in a stolen TIE fighter. Poe names Finn after saving him.

Poe and Finn crash-land on Jakku; Finn believes Poe is dead after finding his jacket. They encounter Rey and BB-8, and the trio is pursued by the First Order, who launch an airstrike.

Rey, Finn, and BB-8 board and steal the Millennium Falcon; they escape Jakku with the First Order in pursuit. The Falcon sustains damage but works to flee.

The Falcon is boarded by Han Solo and Chewbacca after it is discovered. They help the crew fend off pursuing gangs and set course for new adventures.

At the First Order's Starkiller Base, Snoke approves General Hux's request to use the planet-sized weapon to annihilate the New Republic. Snoke questions Kylo Ren about his emotional attachment to Han Solo.

The crew learns Luke's map is incomplete and travels toward Takodana to Maz Kanata. Rey is drawn to a vault where she encounters Anakin's lightsaber and experiences visions. She resists claiming the saber, and Maz entrusts Finn with the weapon.

Starkiller Base fires on Hosnian Prime, destroying the New Republic capital and leaving the Resistance without its political support. The attack marks a turning point in the war.

Starkiller Base attacks Takodana in search of BB-8. Han, Chewbacca, and Finn are saved by Resistance X-wings led by Poe; Leia arrives at Takodana to reunite with Han. Kylo Ren captures Rey, intending to take her to Snoke.

While Kylo Ren tries to mind-read Rey, she discovers her Force abilities and resists him. She escapes by using a Jedi mind trick on a stormtrooper, slipping away.

BB-8 reunites with R2-D2 at the Resistance base, reviving the droid's memory. The Resistance plans to destroy Starkiller Base by targeting its thermal oscillator.

Han, Chewbacca, and Finn infiltrate Starkiller Base aboard the Falcon, locate Rey, and plant explosives to disable the base's thermal oscillator. Han confronts Kylo Ren, urging him to abandon the dark side.

Kylo Ren fatally wounds Han Solo in front of Chewbacca and Finn. Chewbacca fires at Kylo, enabling the team to ignite the explosives and destroy the base's thermal oscillator as Poe attacks.

Kylo Ren pursues Rey and Finn into the woods; Finn is defeated by Kylo. Rey awakens, uses the Force to defeat Kylo in a duel, and escapes with Chewbacca and Finn as Starkiller Base implodes. R2-D2 awakens and reveals the rest of the map leading to Ahch-To.

The trio travels to the oceanic planet Ahch-To. Rey locates Luke Skywalker atop a cliff, presenting him with his lightsaber, signaling the start of a new Jedi training arc.
