Born in a cemetery, Kitaro is a yōkai boy and the sole surviving member of the Ghost Tribe aside from his decaying father. He hides his missing left eye beneath his hair. Determined to keep peace, he works to protect humans from the mischievous tricks of other yōkai, acting as a bridge between the two realms.
