Following the martyrdom of Joseph Smith, enemies of the young LDS Church believed it would collapse. The crisis was undeniable, and the Saints in Nauvoo faced chaos. "Six Days in August" explores the pivotal period in August 1844 when Sidney Rigdon and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, under the leadership of Brigham Young, presented their claims for leadership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Saints had never before experienced the death of a Church president, leaving them in uncharted territory.
