Jane Pritchard suggests a compromise: allow the film crew to shoot in town if the highway project is approved. The plan aims to defuse tensions by linking the town's development to the film project.

With everyone on board, Spectrum Pictures moves in and begins filming in Carson's Corners. The film production runs amid the simmering feud as locals adjust to a temporary new normal.

Bob Merritt, the film's star, begins pursuing Marjorie, adding romantic competition to the political intrigue. Will's loyalty and love are tested as he navigates jealousy, family ties, and a town divided.

Jane and the sheriff devise a plan to frighten Merritt out of town by telling him a lynch party is after him. The ruse is meant to protect Marjorie's interests and keep the production on track.

During a bank hold-up scene, three gangsters don actor costumes and steal money from the bank. The heist blurs the line between fiction and crime, challenging everyone to respond quickly.

Will pursues the gangsters on horseback, captures them, and returns the money to the bank. His heroic actions win the respect of the Pritchards and Marjorie, sealing their engagement.
