Sharmaji Namkeen

Sharmaji, a middle-class widower, is told by his employer Madhuban Home Appliances to retire at the age of 58. He resents the forced retirement and clings to his home in Subhash Nagar, West Delhi, living with his two sons. The news unsettles the family as Rinku plans a marriage and a flat, while Vincy pursues his studies and dancing.

Rinku and Urmi plan to get married and buy a flat in Gurgaon, while Vincy pursues his final year of B.Com and dancing. Sharmaji is reluctant to leave the home he's known for years, and Rinku hides the details of the apartment deal to avoid conflict. Tensions rise between old loyalties and new ambitions as the future starts pulling the family in different directions.

To overcome boredom, Sharmaji explores hobbies and applies for various small jobs, from Zumba to property brokerage. He agrees, at the suggestion of his childhood friend Chaddha, to cook for kitty parties after an acquaintance of Manju Gulati praises his cooking. This marks his first step into a social scene beyond his daily routine.

Sharmaji lands his first kitty party cooking gig, assisted by Manju Gulati's praise and Chaddha's suggestion, and begins to build a reputation. At a second such party, he befriends Veena Manchanda, a boutique owner whose husband died in a car crash, and is warmly welcomed by the group. This new friendship opens a doorway into a different social world.

Through Veena, Sharmaji meets Veena's dear friend Robbie Sachdeva, a politician and Mayor of West Delhi, who invites him to cook for a religious meeting at his place. Sharmaji's cooking skills win goodwill among party-goers, and his presence grows in Veena's circle. He learns that Veena is Robbie's sister-in-law, expanding his social ties.

On Sharmaji's birthday, extended family arrives and someone uploads a video of him dancing at a kitty party, triggering embarrassment. Rinku and Vincy confront him in a heated argument, with Vincy accusing Rinku of moving out and Rinku accusing Vincy of failing his exams. Sharmaji is devastated by the family rift but chooses to keep pursuing his passion despite the turmoil.

Veena and Sharmaji's bond deepens as they share social outings and kitty party moments, and he finds emotional support beyond his family life. The friendship grows into a trusted connection that influences Sharmaji’s outlook. This relationship introduces new loyalty and possible complications into the family dynamics.

Sharmaji and Vincy overhear Rinku fighting with the developer Jain, who delays possession of the flat. Jain's excuses reveal that the deal is not straightforward and hint at mounting legal and financial troubles. The family senses impending trouble from the dubious land deal.

Rinku introduces Urmi to his family, and Sharmaji learns that Urmi's father knows more about the flat than he does. Rinku confesses that Jain has delayed possession and that he paid 15 lakh as token money, leaving Sharmaji deeply hurt and worried. Overwhelmed by the news, Sharmaji decides to cut back on catering to focus on home affairs.

At a municipal office, Rinku is informed of the problematic land deal and the improper possession timeline. In a drunken rage, he goes to Jain's office, clashes with security, and is arrested. Sharmaji, at a final kitty party, receives a call about his son's arrest and rushes to the police station with the other women as the situation reveals police collusion with Jain.

While in custody, Sharmaji uses a hidden phone to contact Veena, who signals Robbie. Robbie, leveraging his position as Mayor of West Delhi, uses his influence to secure their release. The event exposes the extent of Jain's corruption and the police collusion surrounding the case.

Rinku apologizes to his father for not being a good son, and Sharmaji forgives him, restoring family peace. Robbie and Veena help coordinate the money recovery and ensure the family returns home to Subhash Nagar. The film closes with Sharmaji rejoining life at home, having resolved the crisis and reaffirmed his passions.
