Fin, April, and Fin's ex-wife are en route to New York City to promote How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters. The trip is meant to be routine, but the mood shifts as a major assignment threatens to derail everything. They prepare for the publicity run while the city looms closer on the horizon.

A fierce storm batters the aircraft, tearing at panels and plunging the craft into chaos. Airborne sharks crash through the cabin as engines fail, and the crew struggles to maintain control. Passengers panic as life-threatening danger becomes all too real.

In the chaos of the shark assault, Fin manages a rough landing approach to save as many as possible. April is gravely injured when she is struck while attempting to shoot a shark, her hand severed in the ensuing melee. The crew's sacrifice underscores the brutal stakes of the disaster.

While the city braces for impact, Fin reaches his sister Ellen Brody in New York and urges her to hurry to the Bales Tower Hotel.
