Shark Bait

A fishing boat pulls Pi's family from the polluted Boston harbor, and Pi's parents struggle to free him from the net. They cannot escape their fate and are killed. Before dying, Piper makes Pi promise to go live with his aunt Pearl.

Meg and Percy take Pi to live with his aunt Pearl on a Caribbean reef. Pi clings to the hope that his parents might return, so he initially resists leaving. Meg warns that once a net takes someone, they are killed, highlighting the reef's danger. The move marks a new chapter in Pi's life.

On Pearl's reef, Pi meets Cordelia and his cousin Dylan, and he immediately falls for Cordelia. Cordelia warns him about the reef's dangers and tells him that the only truly dangerous place is between Troy and whatever he wants. Pi faces the challenge of navigating new friendships and rivalries.

Aunt Pearl reads Pi's future and prophesies that his destiny lies on the reef. She cautions him to stay away from the abandoned shipwreck and a forbidden area called Flat Bottom. Pearl leaves Dylan in charge of showing Pi around, setting up his exploration of the reef.

During exploration, Pi and Dylan reach Flat Bottom, the open sea beyond the sanctuary. Dylan mentions Nerissa, a legendary turtle rumored to train in the shipwreck and to be a wizard. They witness Nerissa defending his blue pearl against a group of squids, hinting at deeper dangers ahead. Cordelia screams after getting a lure stuck in her fin, and Pi helps remove it.

At the reef amphitheatre, Pi learns about Thornton the seal who fought a giant beast. Cordelia confesses her love for Pi as they share a night under the stars. Troy arrives and begins to abuse Pi, prompting Cordelia to strike a deal with him: leave Pi alone and she will marry Troy. Pi is knocked unconscious and carried away by a current to Nerissa's shipwreck.

Pi pleads with Nerissa to teach him the ways of the ocean to defend himself against Troy. The elder marlins claim their age won't help, and Thornton concedes that his own tale isn’t a true fight. After Pi defends Nerissa's pearl from Bart and Eddie, Nerissa agrees to train him.

Pearl expresses concern for Pi's safety on his first training day, worried he might be killed. Pi reminds her that his destiny lies on the reef, including Cordelia. Nerissa acknowledges the risk but agrees to teach him anyway.

Nerissa leads Pi through a gauntlet of dangers, including razor-sharp elkhorn coral, burning fire coral, Bottleneck Alley, and the deadly West Indies current. Pi endures the trials with determination, knowing the reef's safety depends on his progress. The training hardens him for the looming confrontation with Troy.

Cordelia begs Pi to reconsider risking his life, even offering herself. Meanwhile, Troy's henchmen steal Pearl's last keepsake—the pearl—leaving Pearl heartbroken. Pi resolves to confront Troy to protect Cordelia and hers and Pearl's fate.

Pi triggers a chase through Nerissa's training valley that leads toward Flat Bottom. The obstacles slow Troy as Pi uses the terrain to escape and gain the upper hand. The pursuit escalates toward a climactic confrontation.

Pi lures Troy toward a surface net and narrowly escapes the shark's jaws. Percy and Meg return to help Pi, and Thornton with the reef marlins arrive to support him. Troy is finally trapped by the net as the reef pleads Pi's heroism.

Nerissa gives Pi his pearl, treating him like a son. Pi presents Cordelia with the pearl, and she accepts; they share a kiss as the reef celebrates their victory. The reef's joy signals a new balance restored by Pi's courage.

In a mid-credits moment, Thornton tells Pi's story to everyone on the reef, insisting he can now tell a true story because he was there. He emphasizes Pi's determination and refusal to despair, sealing the legend of Pi's destiny.
