Seventh Moon

Melissa and Yul arrive in China and participate in the 'Hungry Ghost' Festival, which is believed to allow the dead to roam among the living. They travel with their guide Ping to a village where Yul's relatives live, immersing themselves in local customs and traditions. The atmosphere shifts from festive to eerily tense as night falls.

During a nighttime drive, Ping stops to ask for directions and then mysteriously does not return. Melissa and Yul search for him but find the village windows boarded up and offerings left on the streets. They notice the villagers chanting behind doors, indicating something is wrong.

Deciding to leave, Melissa and Yul get back in their car but encounter a wounded stranger on the road. As they help him, they are suddenly attacked and chased by pale, ghostly creatures. They seek refuge in a barn, desperately trying to evade the supernatural pursuers.

The wounded stranger attempts to knock Yul out to feed the creatures, revealing his malevolent influence. Melissa intervenes, subduing him, and they barricade themselves inside the car, which is eventually smashed by the creatures trying to reach them. They escape through the trunk into a crypt.

Inside a candlelit house, Melissa and Yul hear chanting and are entranced, compelled to strip and have sex before blacking out. This ritual seems to be part of the villagers' dark practices aimed at appeasing the demons or completing sacrifices.

Melissa and Yul awaken tied to each other in a field, surrounded by demonic creatures. Yul, realizing he is the next sacrifice, offers himself to save Melissa, and the beasts accept, taking him away as Melissa watches helplessly.

Melissa wakes up inside the house and is told by Ping that they have been used as sacrifices to stop the moon demons from taking villagers. Ping explains Yul's brave act of sacrifice and reveals that Yul is still alive but in danger of being fully transformed into a demon.

Melissa, driven by love and desperation, follows a trail of candles to a cave where she discovers Yul partially transformed. He warns her that the demons are inside his head, urging her to leave or they will kill her as well.

Melissa and Yul share a final moment of love before Yul fully transforms into dust, with Melissa promising to visit Yul’s relatives. Yul’s body disintegrates as the moon sets, marking the completion of his transformation.

Melissa, pursued by the remaining moon demons, is slowed down by Ping's sacrifice, allowing her to escape as dawn approaches. The demons are turned to dust with the rising sun, ending their pursuit, but Melissa is left grief-stricken and devastated.
