A lonely, wealthy hypochondriac spends her 65th birthday—and every other day—complaining, berating servants, taking pills, and grumbling about everything, even the sunshine. When a toy airplane crashes through an open window and breaks a vase, its owner, Spanky, is told he must pay seventy‑five cents. Unfamiliar with paying, Spanky offers his help, enlisting a friend to clean the yard. Through their work, the children bring a fresh, brighter outlook to the old lady’s life.
