Salim

Two years after the incidents in Naan, Salim works as an honest doctor at a private hospital in Chennai. He routinely helps needy patients, earning admiration from many and ire from some colleagues who see his charity as a threat to the hospital's income. His skill and humanity set the stage for rising tensions.

Salim learns someone is stalking him, which turns out to be his suitor Nisha. He directly hands her his personal diary so she can learn more about him. The gesture forges a fragile bond between them.

Nisha is impressed by Salim's selfless dedication to his work and begins to fall in love with him. Their relationship grows, even as his generosity consumes much of his time. The romance complicates their lives.

To mend their rift, Salim plans to spend a whole day with Nisha. They go to a movie theatre, where goons harass Nisha; Salim protects her and leaves the place. After the incident, Nisha becomes offended and stops answering his calls.

A few days later, the hospital's managing director warns Salim to stop refusing fees from poor patients, arguing that his charity hurts the hospital's income. The clash highlights the conflict between Salim's ideals and institutional economics. The tension foreshadows tighter control over his work.

Despite the tension, Salim and Nisha reconcile a few days later and renew their relationship. They try to move past the earlier fallout and reconnect.

Nisha invites Salim to a party, but on the way he encounters a young girl who has been raped and is bleeding. He carries her to the hospital, prioritizing her care over the social engagement. As a result, he misses the party.

That evening Salim learns the girl was discharged from the hospital because she cannot pay, while the hospital invites him to the party—an apparent jab at his charity. The managing director has had enough of his generosity at the hospital's expense. Salim storms out of the farewell party after being insulted for not monetizing his talent.

On the way home, Salim gets into a scuffle with a police officer and ends up in the police station. He escapes with the officer's pistol and heads to a hotel where four men attempt to rape the hotel's singer. Salim defeats them, takes them hostage to teach them a lesson.

The police discover Salim's identity and raid his home, seizing his wedding card and learning about Nisha. They bring Nisha to the hotel, where she meets Chezhian and explains Salim's character and that he is not a terrorist. The police plan to use Nisha as bait to trap Salim, but he refuses to cooperate when Thavapunniyam's presence is demanded.

A police sniper shoots at Salim but misses; Salim retaliates by throwing one of the attackers from a window and warning Chezhian to take him seriously to avoid disaster.

It is revealed that the four men had raped the girl, and after her discharge they killed her and her mother, disposing of their bodies in a sewage drain. The revelation compounds Salim's resolve to resist capture.

Salim realizes he won't be spared and demands a car to leave, instructing the police not to follow. Thavapunniyam meanwhile arranges a car fitted with a bomb and a remote detonator.

Salim holds Guru hostage and gets into Guru's car, hoping to escape. Thavapunniyam's men chase the car with trucks, attempting to kill him and stage an accident.

The pursuers crash into Salim's car, only to find Guru inside. The outcome leaves Thavapunniyam's scheme unresolved and the conflict reaches a dramatic pause.
