A kind‑hearted young man is expelled from his corrupt hometown of West Rome, Oklahoma. Exhausted, he falls asleep and dreams that he is transported to ancient Rome, where he becomes entangled in court intrigue and a murderous conspiracy against the emperor, all presented with lavish music, comedy and visual spectacle.
