Right at Your Door

As chaos envelops Los Angeles, an emergency broadcast reveals the city is under siege from suspected dirty bomb explosions. Toxic fumes spread rapidly, leaving residents in a state of panic and uncertainty.

Brad, an unemployed musician, remains isolated in his home, desperately trying to contact his wife Lexi, who is at work. The frustration mounts as he encounters a busy signal on her phone, leading him to contemplate venturing outside to find her.

As Brad finally decides to leave, he meets Alvaro, a mysterious intruder seeking refuge. Alvaro explains how he was forced out from his neighbor's house due to the impending danger of the toxic fallout.

Realizing the gravity of the situation, Brad and Alvaro begin fortifying their home with makeshift barriers made from duct tape and plastic sheeting. They aim to protect themselves from the spreading toxins as radio updates warn of quarantines for survivors.

As time goes by without any sign of Lexi, Brad grows increasingly distraught. In a desperate act of hope, he leaves her belongings at the back door, wishing for her safe return amidst the chaos surrounding them.

When Lexi finally returns, she appears dust-laden and frantic. Brad hesitates to let her inside due to the fear of contamination, leading to a heated confrontation that culminates in Lexi breaking her phone in frustration.

After hearing from Lexi's mother about the dire situation outside, Alvaro announces his intention to leave the safety of the home to find his wife. Brad pleads with him to stay, but Alvaro disregards his concerns and ventures into the toxic fallout.

Night falls, and a masked stranger named Rick emerges from the darkness, claiming he knows of a ship offshore that can assist those afflicted by the crisis. Lexi and Rick decide to gather more information while Brad remains behind, glued to the radio updates.

Corporal Marshall and his team arrive at Brad's home, questioning him about their defenses and any visitors. Brad expresses concern for Lexi’s wellbeing, but the corporal warns him that she must not be permitted to return in her current state.

The following day, soldiers arrive and take Lexi away, highlighting the growing danger. A soldier shares that the virus cannot survive in well-ventilated spaces, but Brad's home has become a breeding ground for the outbreak due to his determination to keep it secure.

As soldiers prepare to spray chemicals to cleanse the area, Lexi watches in anguish, realizing that her unintended actions have put them all at risk. Her screams echo the despair of losing Brad to the very threat they sought to escape.

In the heartbreaking finale, Lexi is seen in an ambulance, being cared for by a nurse. The painful irony of her situation weighs heavily upon her as her phone rings repeatedly, a reminder of the connection and life she has lost.
