Comedian Rich Hall travels west to investigate why the quintessential American western disappeared. Using iconic films such as The Searchers, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Little Big Man, The Wild Bunch and Unforgiven, he traces the genre’s rise and fall and shows how Hollywood created the cowboy as a moral, straight‑talking hero. He also reveals how successive presidents co‑opted that image to project strength and valor.
