Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation

Lewis is ashamed of his nerd past and tries to distance himself from it by adopting a more polished persona. He grows a ponytail and asks people to call him 'Lew' instead of Lewis, hoping to fit in with the new administration. Betty reminds him that she fell in love with him because he had the courage to be himself.

Earlier, Harold reminds Lewis that he was once 'the George Washington of nerds,' hinting at his former leadership role.

Orrin Price, a new board regent and enemy of nerds, installs Stan Gable as the new dean of students. Stan was a former Alpha Beta who previously fought against the nerds. Price uses his influence to put someone hostile to nerds in a position of power over the campus.

Despite Lewis reminding Stan of their past and how Lewis defended him when others called him worthless, Stan refuses to help. He tells Lewis he is not his friend and that Lewis will always be a nerd. Stan's refusal stems from his new position as dean and his allegiance to Price's anti-nerd agenda.

This betrayal foreshadows Stan's later redemption arc when he eventually testifies against Price.

After embracing his nerd identity again, Lewis calls on all sympathetic nerds across the city to participate in a massive strike. Since many nerds work in essential technical jobs, their collective work stoppage disrupts basic utilities and services throughout the city. The strike effectively brings the city to a standstill, forcing the administration to take notice.

To end the nerd strike, Price frames Lewis by accusing him of embezzling college funds and harvesting marijuana in the basement of the Tri-Lamb house. These fabricated charges lead to Lewis's arrest, which causes the strike to end prematurely. Stan initially tolerates this frame but becomes uncomfortable with its severity.

The framing occurs right after the nerd strike successfully cripples city services, showing Price's desperation to regain control.

Stan experiences a change of heart after witnessing the extent of Price's corruption. He testifies against Price, admitting that Price framed Lewis for theft and planted the marijuana. More importantly, Stan reveals he has always been a nerd at heart, he wanted to read books and learn, but his family discouraged it. His testimony exposes Price's crimes and leads to Price's arrest.

After Stan testifies against Price and admits his past, he feels the weight of his actions and believes he should step down as dean. This moment completes Stan's character arc from antagonist to ally.

The Alpha Betas, who throughout the movie harass the Tri-Lambs and support Price's anti-nerd agenda, lose their Adams College fraternity charter as part of the resolution. This marks the ultimate defeat of the jock hierarchy, ensuring nerd dominance at Adams College.

This moment foreshadows Stan's eventual change of heart and his decision to testify against Price.

Harold Skolnick and his friend successfully pledge Lambda Lambda Lambda (the Tri-Lambs). Their new members include an obese kilt-wearing English inductee and a Korean Elvis impersonator who emphasizes he's South Korean when asked about his Dixie accent. These diverse new recruits help expand the fraternity's membership during rush week.

The new members join just before the Alpha Betas attack at the barbecue, making them targets of harassment.
