Rescue from Gilligan’s Island

Fifteen years after the S.S. Minnow wreck, the seven castaways remain marooned on the same island. They have adapted to a precarious life but cling to the hope of rescue. The island still looms as their only home, with no sign of salvation in sight.

A Soviet-type country destroys an orbiting satellite to prevent top-secret information from falling into adversaries' hands. The metal disc survives the destruction and rains down on the island. The castaways become unaware that this disc holds keys to future events.

The Professor discovers the disc is made of a unique alloy suitable for a new kind of barometer. He uses it to predict that a huge storm is coming, and the resulting tsunami could destroy the island. The risk prompts the group to consider drastic measures for survival.

To weather the anticipated wave, the castaways tie their huts together to form a rough raft fortress. They plan to ride out the storm and aim for safety beyond the island shores. The improvised craft embodies their last hope for survival.

The next morning, the castaways awaken to realize they have been swept off the island on their improvised raft. They are adrift, unaware of their exact location or direction. The vast sea becomes their uncertain new home.

Gilligan accidentally sets the raft on fire, creating smoke visible to distant observers. The United States Coast Guard spots the signal and rescues the castaways from their perilous drift. The group returns to modern civilization after years of isolation.

Once ashore in contemporary times, the castaways are bewildered by how much the world has changed. After much media hype, they reunite for a Christmas gathering aboard the S.S. Minnow II. The reunion marks a new chapter in their lives.

Foreign spies discover that Gilligan possesses the disc and begin a relentless effort to recover it. Their pursuit adds danger and tension to the castaways' fragile reentry into society. The stakes are raised as the disc becomes a highly sought-after prize.

The insurance company refuses to pay until all former passengers sign a statement exonerating the Skipper. Gilligan and the Skipper set out to collect signatures from each survivor. The process pits personal loyalties against the pressure of the settlement.

The team visits Ginger, who has become a movie actress, and she agrees to sign after noting how much film industry standards have shifted. Her signature becomes part of the insurance statement trail. The visit underscores the changing fortunes of the castaways.

The Professor, now overshadowed by his castaway celebrity status, signs to support the settlement and move forward. His signature reflects a desire to prioritize science and stability over personal fame. It completes another piece of the insurer's puzzle.

The Skipper and Gilligan visit the Howells at their residence and sign after confronting snobbish friends who belittled Gilligan. The moment demonstrates the group's unity under pressure. Their signatures push the process closer to a resolution.

Mary Ann is about to marry her old fiancé, Herbert, though she no longer loves him. Skipper and Gilligan disrupt the ceremony to spare her unhappiness, and Mary Ann learns Herbert loves someone else. She signs the insurance statement, choosing a future she believes in.

With the signatures gathered, the insurance payout is issued and the survivors board a reunion cruise aboard the Minnow II. Spies attempt one last time to seize the disc, but the FBI intervenes and secures it. A storm strikes, Gilligan removes the compass magnet while cleaning it, the Skipper sails off course, and the boat lands on their old island, where they discover a piece of wood from the original Minnow.
