Grace finally discovers that the town’s mysterious murderer is Tom Bridges. The night of the crash, Tom had tried to silence his abusive girlfriend Anna, whose car broke down on the same road. When Anna flagged down the Wheelers, the collision left Grace’s parents dead and left her severely injured. Tom then took advantage of the chaos: he kills Anna, murders the Wheelers to end their suffering, and later slaughters his own father before silencing a witness, Brian, making it appear as a suicide.

Back at Grace’s house, the implant in her brain—originally meant to restore mobility—has amplified her perception, turning ghost‑like visions of Anna into heightened instincts. Those visions guide her to the hidden dump where Tom’s crimes are buried. When she and Kate arrive, Tom ambushes them, kidnapping Kate and a doctor who had come to adjust Grace’s chip. He drags the three captives to the local theater, where the final showdown erupts.

Empowered by the implant, Grace fights back with super‑human strength, wounding Tom gravely. As Kate lies mortally wounded, Grace attempts to flee, but Tom lunges once more. In a desperate move, she runs him over and then slits his throat, ensuring he can never harm anyone again.

The mid‑credits scene shows Grace returning home, cradling Kate’s lifeless body. She turns toward one of the surveillance cameras, and her hand emits a faint glow. Dr. Adriana Stone watches the feed and smiles, indicating that the experimental chip is now reshaping Grace into something more than human—an emerging cyborg whose AI‑driven capabilities are only beginning to surface.
