The film follows Stan “Tookie” Williams, founder of Los Angeles’ Crips, tracing his rise in the gang, his conviction and lengthy imprisonment, and his later transformation into an author of children’s books promoting peace and non‑violence—efforts that earned him several Nobel Peace Prize nominations. After all appeals were denied, he was put to death by lethal injection.
