In present-day Turkey, Recep Ivedik is reprimanded by a police officer for harassment but is let off the hook. The encounter establishes his brash, impulsive personality. He heads home, unsure of what's next.

Recep discovers a hotel owner's wallet and resolves to return it as a sign of respect. He sees Muhsin Basaran on TV, whose advice inspires him to act honorably. This motivates the road trip that follows.

Recep begins his journey to locate Basaran, hoping to do the right thing. Along the way he helps young girls with car batteries, joins dance circles, and ends up hitchhiking with a group of eccentric rock band members after his car breaks down. The trip spirals into a series of chaotic errands and new acquaintances.

Intoxicated, Recep ends up at a restaurant and is challenged to win a car ride, which he does. A truck driver offers a lift, but the driver’s sexual advances make Recep uncomfortable. He ultimately leaves the truck to continue his journey on his own terms.

Recep returns the wallet to Basaran at a hotel and contemplates leaving. When he sees Basaran on TV, he becomes drawn to his childhood love Sibel and asks for extra nights to try to reconnect.

Hotel life proves awkward when Recep locks himself out of his room in a bath towel, unsettling the hotel manager Erim. After regaining access, he bonds with a receptionist over a drink. Erim assigns the receptionist to keep an eye on Recep to prevent further mishaps.

The next morning Recep accidentally knocks Sibel into a pool, triggering a brief quarrel. Sibel doesn’t recognize him, leaving Recep puzzled about how to approach her. This moment marks the start of his awkward attempts to win her over.

Recep buys summer attire and tries to join Sibel’s volleyball game, but she refuses. Undeterred, he joins the opposing team and helps them win. He offers the trophy to Sibel, who declines, keeping him at a distance.

At the buffet, Recep overeats and embarrasses Erim with his antics. He later sits with Sibel and her mother, where weight-related insults surface, causing him to leave in humiliation. The moment underscores Recep's social awkwardness as he pursues her.

To impress Sibel, Recep asks to join an aerobics class. Erim outfits him in a ridiculous pink workout ensemble. He attends the class and performs awkwardly, unsettling Sibel while Erim laughs at the spectacle.

An aquatic instructor reminds the group of their scuba class, which Recep joins and then irritates with rude antics. He sneaks off to an island to disrupt an adult film shoot, then returns to the hotel. The encounter triggers memories of his grandmother's death, and he gives Sibel a conch while insulting her mother, hinting at deeper feelings.

Recep goes to the hotel disco where Sibel is with another man and wins a dance battle, drinking heavily as his prize. The next morning, a spa incident sees him police-dodging a masseur and entering the wrong room, leading to a chaotic, embarrassing encounter before he flees.

Becoming increasingly desperate, Recep asks the receptionist to deliver a bag of marbles to Sibel and prepares to leave. After a final dash to the airport, he hopes the gesture reaches her. When Sibel finally examines the marbles, she realizes they are from their childhood, revealing that Recep is her long-lost childhood love.
