Rainbow Jelly

This film follows the story of a 12-year-old orphan named Ghoton, a special child with a remarkable gift for cooking, who lives in a dilapidated ancestral house under the care of his only guardian, Gondaria. Gondaria is portrayed as a selfish and greedy character, obsessed with food and material gain. He keeps Ghoton captive within the confines of the old house, pretending that Ghoton’s father, a renowned scientist, left behind a treasure for his son. Gondaria manipulates the young boy by claiming that he can only access this treasure if he serves him until he turns 18.

The plot takes an intriguing turn when a mysterious woman, Poripishi, shows up and offers Ghoton a chance to realize his dreams of discovering the hidden treasure. But her condition is unusual—she promises to help him within only seven days by preparing seven different magical dishes that are each characterized by a unique taste: Sweet, Sour, Salty, Spicy, Pungent, Astringent, and Bitter. Each dish not only brings a different flavor but also influences Gondaria’s mood profoundly.

For example, the Sweet (Red) dish makes Gondaria appear more lovable and kind, while the Sour (Orange) dish causes him to regret his actions and become reflective. The Salty (Yellow) dish induces contemplation, and the Spicy (Green) dish makes him sad. Meanwhile, the Blue-Pungent dish causes tension, the Indigo-Astringent dish makes him hasty, and the Bitter-Violet dish sparks anger.

Every day, Ghoton prepares a new dish for Gondaria, hoping to influence his temperament and perhaps loosen his grip. After the seven days, Poripishi crafts a miraculous dish—Rainbow Jelly—using the residues of all seven previous dishes. This enchanted food encompasses all the tastes and colors of the universe and is capable of transforming anyone who consumes it.

Ghoton, with great hope and courage, serves the Rainbow Jelly to Gondaria. When he does so, a magical transformation occurs—not just for Gondaria but also for Ghoton himself. This pivotal moment leads to Ghoton uncovering the hidden treasure of his father and, more importantly, revealing the deep, concealed truth about his own life—truths that no one knew, and that could never have been uncovered without the extraordinary magic of the Rainbow Jelly.

Throughout the story, themes of trust, discovery, and transformation are woven into a narrative that highlights the power of kindness and hope against selfishness and greed. It’s a tale of how the innocence of a young boy, combined with magical elements, can bring about awakening and revelation, changing the course of his life forever.
