In a blend of Japanese folklore and commedia dell’Arte, a wholly white world opens with the naïve Pierrot lying in a silent forest. Doo‑wop music swells as he awakens, gazes upward and reaches for the moon. While other woodland children frolic and music fills the air, Pierrot remains melancholy and isolated. Harlequin then bursts onto the scene, radiant with confidence and vigor, and summons the charming Colombina, dazzling Pierrot. Yet the story asks whether true love can ever flow smoothly.
