During the opening of Vienna’s Riesenrad a operetta contest was held. Cimrman entered with a work titled “Proso,” but he didn’t mail the score, so the jury ripped the manuscript apart. Later Czech researchers proved the famous melodies of Die Fledermaus, Polská krev and other operettas were actually written by the forgotten Cimrman.
