The film is a musical burlesque set in the Weimar era, scripted by Walter Reisch, directed by Géza von Bolváry and starring the incomparable Willi Forst. Forst plays a dapper “Festredner,” a professional speaker hired to deliver wedding and ceremony speeches for those who cannot. He lends his voice to a speech‑impaired professor (Paul Hörbiger); the baroness (Trude Lieske) falls for the professor only because of Forst’s voice, leading to comic romantic complications.
