A catastrophic event known as the Great World Blaze erupts, causing mass spontaneous human combustions across the globe. This tragic disaster results in the death of half the world's population, drastically altering the course of human civilization.

In the aftermath of the Great World Blaze, some humans develop pyrokinetic abilities and are labeled as the Burnish. This newfound power creates tension in society, leading to the division between the ordinary population and the empowered Burnish.

Thirty years later, Galo Thymos becomes part of a firefighting group known as Burning Rescue in the city of Promepolis. His mission is to respond to incidents involving the Mad Burnish, a radical faction accused of acts of terrorism against society.

Galo and his team successfully confront and defeat several members of the Mad Burnish, including their enigmatic leader, Lio Fotia. These encounters reveal the complexities of their motives and the injustices they face.

Following the engagements, the Freeze Force, a police force commanded by Kray Foresight, arrests the members of the Mad Burnish. This event intensifies the conflict between the Burnish and city authorities, foreshadowing deeper issues at play.

In a moment of desperation, Galo witnesses Lio attempting to revive a mortally injured Burnish using a mouth-to-mouth flame transfer technique. This harrowing scene reveals both Lio's compassion and the dire situation of the Burnish.

Galo confronts Governor Kray, who discloses his disturbing plan to escape Earth using the Burnish's powers to create a warp drive. Shocking revelations about Kray's true nature and intentions lead Galo to oppose him vehemently.

As a consequence of his defiance, Galo is arrested for treason, further complicating the struggle between the authorities and the Burnish. His imprisonment places him in a precarious position as the situation escalates.

In an act of defiance against Kray's oppression, Lio transforms into a giant flaming dragon, unleashing his fury upon Promepolis. His rampage marks a significant turning point, showcasing the extreme lengths to which the Burnish will go to defend themselves.

Galo manages to escape from prison with the help of his comrades in Burning Rescue, aiming to intervene in Lio's destructive rampage. This act reinforces the bond among the team members and their commitment to saving both Lio and the city.

Galo and Lio, along with Burning Rescue, discover a hidden laboratory beneath the frozen lake, revealing critical information about the Promare and the consequences of Kray’s experiments. This knowledge shifts their understanding of the crisis at hand.

In a mecha designed by the deceased scientist Deus Prometh, Galo and Lio engage in a climactic battle against Kray. The confrontation exposes Kray's true identity as a Burnish and his manipulative tactics against Galo and the Burnish people.

As the battle intensifies, Kray seemingly kills Galo, putting him in a dire situation. However, Lio's flames miraculously save him, emphasizing the strength of their bond and the stakes of their fight.

Lio convinces Galo to fuse the warp drive with the mecha to protect the life on Earth. This unprecedented act demonstrates their commitment to save humanity and highlights the importance of their collaboration.

As the Promare envelop the surface, they burn harmlessly, closing the rift in Earth's core. The Burnish revert to normal humans, and Galo and Lio pledge to work together to rebuild and protect their world.
