Prey for the Devil

The movie opens with a warning about a surge in demonic possessions worldwide. In response, the Catholic Church initiates training programs for priests, enabling them to perform exorcisms outside of Rome.

We are introduced to a young girl named Ann who refuses to open her door to her distressed mother. As the situation escalates, Ann's mother reveals signs of demonic possession by banging her head against the door, highlighting the early impact of demonic forces.

Years later, an adult Ann, now a nun, serves at St. Michael the Archangel School of Exorcism in Boston. Committed to her duties in the medical ward, she cares for patients, including a young girl named Natalie.

Despite church regulations forbidding nuns from learning about exorcisms, Ann sneaks into classes taught by Father Quinn. Her curiosity escalates when a patient attacks her, uttering demonic phrases reminiscent of her mother's.

During her first exorcism class, Father Quinn allows students to attend a real exorcism that tragically involves Natalie. The attempted exorcism fails dramatically, marking Natalie as a terminal case under demonic influence.

Haunted by the same demonic presence, Ann teams up with Father Dante to research the histories of previous patients. Their findings reveal only one survivor, who is left deeply scarred from her terrifying experience.

Father Dante confides in Ann about his sister, who he suspects is possessed. As tension mounts, Ann agrees to lead an exorcism to save her, demonstrating her growth and commitment to her calling.

After successfully freeing Dante’s sister from possession, Ann reveals her painful past of giving up a daughter for adoption. Their moment of triumph is shattered when Ann learns that Dante's sister has taken her own life.

Father Dante informs Ann that Natalie, who had been released from demonic influence, suffers a horrifying relapse. Upon arriving at the hospital, they discover a gruesome scene, horrifyingly linked to Natalie’s attack.

Dante presents Ann with a necklace that triggers haunting memories, revealing that Natalie is actually her long-lost daughter. This shocking twist drives Ann to take drastic measures to save her child from darkness.

In a climactic confrontation, Ann and Dante conduct a high-stakes exorcism deep within the catacombs at St. Michael's. The ensuing chaos generates uncertainty, as Natalie becomes a fierce harbinger of violence.

Engulfed by the demon, Ann battles to control the darkness within her while searching for Natalie. This internal struggle leads her to a holy water fountain, where she finds the strength to reclaim her sense of self.

After purging the evil presence, Ann experiences a heartfelt reunion with Natalie and Dante. However, their joy is tempered by the traumatic events that have unfolded, leaving scars on all involved.

The harrowing journey earns Ann a scholarship for further studies at the Vatican. As she prepares for departure, Father Quinn acknowledges her bravery, underscoring the significance of her challenges faced.

On her way to the airport, Ann notices a mysterious figure in her cab, a chilling reminder of her ongoing battle against dark forces. Armed with her crucifix, she braces herself for a confrontation, setting the stage for future struggles.
