Danielle “Daisy” Brooks, a recently orphaned country girl, leaves her Iowa ranch and her boyfriend William behind to pursue a college degree and transfers to Berkshire College, an elite New England private university haunted by the mysterious death of a young student, Alexis Baldwin. In her first week, the campus makes a strong impression, drawing the attention of Ryan Kennedy as Blake, the dean’s charismatic son, and landing her a prestigious internship in Washington, D.C.
Blake’s growing interest leads to a date, much to the dismay of his father, Andrew Graves. Daisy’s arrival also stirs the interests of the Ivy Society, a tight-knit, secretive sisterhood. The head, Azalea Berges, played by Shawna Waldron, is a striking and ambitious student who has a controversial history with teachers. She slips into Blake’s home and, offering sexual favors in exchange for help boosting her internship chances, sets a tense tone for Daisy’s fledgling social ascent.
When Daisy learns that she’s a top candidate, Azalea extends an invitation to join the Ivies. Daisy initially declines, preferring her studies and her budding relationship with Blake, but a tuition payment error threatens to erase her name from the college system, leaving her with a difficult choice. Late one night, Daisy and two other students participate in an initiation ritual at the Ivy household: they pledge allegiance to the sisterhood, drink from drugged ceremonial wine, are stripped naked, and tattooed with the Ivy insignia.
In the early days, the Ivies seem to be a help, outfitting Daisy with a chic new wardrobe, solving her financial issues, and introducing her to a glamorous, high-powered lifestyle. Yet the friendship frays as her status grows, and she finds herself drifting from her roommate, Magenta Hart, who is mourning the recent death of Alexis Baldwin. Magenta Hart and her place in the scholarship are supported by Dean Elisabeth Graves, a move that Daisy’s social ascent complicates. Andrea Whitburn portrays Magenta, the loyal roommate caught in the crosswinds of campus power.
Dean Catherine Hicks Elisabeth Graves rewards Daisy with a coveted scholarship, but the couple’s romance suffers as Blake’s attention is pulled by their new arrangement. Blake’s deceit is captured on camera, when Daisy’s private night with Blake is recorded and the video leaks onto the internet, and a fire destroys Blake’s sports car. Daisy quickly uncovers the deeper truth: the Ivies are a power-hungry faction that uses blackmail and seduction to secure political leverage and coveted government internships.
The plot thickens as Azalea reacts in fury when Magenta takes a slot on the scholarship list, escalating a vendetta against the Graves family. Daisy’s attempt to withdraw is met with pressure and manipulation, culminating with a test that involves Azalea and the dean. In a heated confrontation, Azalea seduces Professor Graves, strikes him with a blunt object, and frames Daisy for the crime.
A police investigation follows, casting Daisy as the prime suspect due to her ties to the Graves family. She reconciles with Blake and, uncovering the Ivies’ manipulation, seeks solace at Azalea’s home. Azalea’s confession to the wrongdoing is recorded, and a violent confrontation erupts at the Ivy swimming pool. Daisy feigns drowning, then overpowers Azalea and knocks her head on the pool steps. The confession leads to Azalea’s arrest, and the authorities are guided to the scene with the incriminating recording.
With the crisis resolved, Daisy is granted the rest of the semester off. She returns to her Iowa farm for the summer and reconnects with her boyfriend Will, played by Brendan Penny. The story closes with Daisy’s tattoo—a symbol now depicted as a daisy—marking a balance between her past and a future shaped by her choices.
