Pharaoh’s Curse

In 1902 Cairo, a street riot erupts as Captain Storm is assigned a small contingent—himself, Gromley, and Smolet—to retrieve the members of an unsanctioned expedition in the Valley of the Kings. Their objective is the lost tomb of Rahateb. The mission also requires escorting Sylvia Quentin, the expedition leader's wife, to keep the group together amid escalating danger.

Storm takes his contingent toward the tomb, with Sylvia Quentin accompanying the expedition. A mysterious woman, Simira, offers to guide them via a more direct route. Storm is reluctant, but he relents after Sylvia is stung by a scorpion, giving Simira a chance to influence the journey.

The group arrives at the site and Simira reveals they are too late because Robert Quentin's group has already opened a sarcophagus. Numar suddenly collapses to the floor, hinting at something wrong with the expedition's guide. The tension rises as the mystery of Rahateb begins to unfold.

Quentin is furious to be back in Cairo and confronts Sylvia, whose visit was meant to end their relationship. The team discovers the mummy is missing from the sarcophagus, and strange cat footprints lead from the sarcophagus to a solid wall. The sense of betrayal deepens as the group realizes something is deeply off.

Quentin confronts Numar about the guide's suspicious alliance, only to learn that Numar is rapidly aging and has no pulse. The revelation casts doubt on the expedition's loyalties and the safety of everyone inside the tomb. Storm's mission grows more perilous as supernatural mysteries emerge.

Later that night, Numar enters the tomb complex, and Gromley discovers one of the animals has been drained of blood. The group senses a deadly force at work within Rahateb's tomb. Storm tightens control to manage the growing threat.

Storm orders Simira to stay confined in her tent while the others pursue Numar through the corridors. The group splits up to cover more ground, and they eventually regroup to find Gromley drained of blood. The body count and fear escalate as they uncover the extent of the danger.

During Gromley's autopsy, Andrews and Brecht translate a stone tablet that explains Rahateb's high priest's sarcophagus is bound by a three-thousand-year curse to kill intruders after possessing another body. The discovery provides a bleak explanation for the strange happenings, while intensifying the tension within the group. The curse hints at a malevolent supernatural force behind the events.

Storm leads another venture into the tomb and finds Brecht dying in the Chamber of Bastet after a brutal assault by Numar. In the ensuing struggle, Numar falls back into Rahateb's chamber, and Storm attempts to grab him, accidentally ripping Numar's arm off. The moment underscores the deadly power at play and the peril to everyone present.

Farraday deduces that Numar's body is decomposing and gradually disintegrating, a macabre sign of the curse at work. Simira warns Storm that the survivors must leave or risk being killed. The group weighs their options as the tomb's threat closes in.

Sylvia runs into the tomb complex after seeing a cat-like shadow, while Simira enters her tent. Smolet finds Sylvia and brings her to Storm, convincing him to locate Simira. The team's resolve hardens as they connect Simira to the goddess Bastet.

Quentin uses pressure to force Andrews to find a way to open the pathway to Rahateb's resting place. The group is admitted by the decaying Numar, but a rigged cave-in traps them and seals Quentin's fate. The dramatic turn isolates the survivors and raises the stakes.

Storm and Beauchamp confirm Quentin's death amid the cave-in and chaos. Beauchamp finds Simira's amulet, a concrete sign of her true identity or supernatural connection. The team resumes their attempt to leave the tomb.

They discover the high priest's sarcophagus lid has been replaced and the mummy inside is Numar. The group deduces that Numar is the reincarnation of Rahateb's high priest, while Simira embodies Bastet in human form. The revelation reframes the entire mission and the reason for the tomb's deadly defenses.

With the danger contained, everyone agrees to cover up what happened and never disclose the tomb's existence. They exit the tomb with a sense that some truths must remain buried. The film closes on a somber note about the consequences of disturbing ancient power.
