As Luke navigates the dangers of the city, he finds Priscilla and Aquila, leaders of a struggling Christian group. They engage in a tense discussion about whether to remain in Rome to support the persecuted or to flee for their own survival.

Meanwhile, Paul is imprisoned in Mamertine Prison due to his standing as a key figure in the Christian movement. Accused by Mauritius Gallus of being responsible for the burning of Rome, Paul faces imminent execution.

Determined to gain insights into Paul's experiences, Luke uses forged documents to gain access to the prison. When he finally meets Paul, he offers warmth and support to the battered apostle in their strong emotional reunion.
