Set in Nepal during the 1970s, this film explores the deeply rooted Chhaupadi tradition, a social custom that isolates women and girls during menstruation. The story follows a young woman challenging the restrictive practices and stigmas associated with this practice, which prevents participation in family life due to beliefs about ritual impurity. The film's title references Nepal’s Panchayat system, a period of self-rule that ended in 1990.
