Joseph had borrowed from four different banks to fund his daughters’ education, and now he struggles to settle the mounting accounts. The family’s future hinges on Celine becoming the village’s first doctor, a beacon of hope that makes their hardship feel all the more poignant. Joseph’s wife, Latha Mohankumar, stands by him as the crunch tightens around them.
