Bandiera and Rabbino, two anarchist brothers raised Catholic, survive by petty theft; as children they pushed their drunken father out a window after he killed their pet sheep. When a girl, raped by her father, is left with them, they shelter her despite friends exploiting her. Their celibate life ends when the brothers are jailed for stealing.
