Timid 30‑year‑old Dimitris, from a lower‑middle‑class background, seeks a lucrative chance to change his life. He drifts between memories of the German occupation and a fledgling romance with his neighbour, while also meeting Thaleia, a wealthy woman his age, at a nightclub. The closure of the Drapetsona small‑industry plant where he has worked eight years, and his relationship with progressive teacher Maria, force him to face a new reality.
