Griffith weaves the stories of two couples married on the same day—one wealthy, one poor. As years pass, the unemployed poor husband tries to burglarize a house, only to be confronted at gunpoint by the mistress, who turns out to be the rich wife’s partner. While holding him, she discovers evidence that implicates her own husband in a bribery scheme.
