During World War II, the Warsaw Zoo became a refuge for approximately 300 people, mostly Jewish, seeking protection from the Nazis. This documentary explores the extraordinary efforts to safeguard both animal species and human lives during this perilous time. Through reenacted scenes featuring animals, interviews with survivors, and archival footage, the film vividly recreates the surreal and dangerous atmosphere of those events, highlighting a remarkable act of compassion and resistance.
