Nuns on the Run

Following the bank robbery, the gang's boss is killed, and Brian Hope and Charlie McManus decide to leave their violent lives behind. They envision a calmer future in Brazil and grow frustrated with the new, younger Casey. The decision marks a turning point as they weigh escape over loyalty.

While planning to rob the Triad money, Brian meets Faith, a waitress, and is drawn to her. The impending heist promises money and a new start, but also complicates loyalty toward Abbott and Morley. Faith's presence gives Brian a personal motive beyond the job.

During the robbery, Brian and Charlie betray Abbott and Morley, steal the money, and flee. The Triads and the pursuing gang members close in as their car runs out of petrol. They seek refuge in a nearby nunnery to escape the gunfight.

Abbott shoots Faith in the wrist during the chaos, while a Triad is hospitalised. The incident raises the stakes and prompts Casey to place a bounty on Brian and Charlie. The pressure intensifies as they hide in the outskirts of London.

Disguised as nuns, Brian and Charlie introduce themselves as Sisters Inviolata and Euphemia to Sister Superior Liz. Faith, having witnessed the escape, follows them and poses as a mature student to enter the nunnery. The strange arrangement begins to blur the lines between trust and deceit.

Faith's gunshot wound is exposed, and she is taken to the infirmary. Brian pays a secret visit and claims he is married to end their relationship for her safety. This makes Faith question Brian's true feelings while attempting to stay hidden.

Faith intends to go to church to confess, but Charlie distracts the priest while Brian poses as him. Faith admits she still loves Brian, but Brian convinces her to keep silent for safety. Their fragile bond hangs in the balance as danger approaches.

Faith is abducted by the Triads and interrogated, then released and directed to Casey. On the way out, she bumps into a lamppost and hits her head, ending up in the hospital. A Triad infiltrates the hospital as a cleaner, worsening the danger.

Brian and Charlie manage to obtain tickets to Brazil, despite Brian's wish to take Faith with them. Their plan to flee continues even as Casey's men close in. The escape plan moves forward while Faith remains in danger elsewhere.

Brian and Faith go to Faith's flat and narrowly escape Abbott and Morley, who were sent by Casey to retrieve her. They sneak back into the nunnery and slip into their spare habits after accidentally waking Sister Mary. In the process, Brian learns Faith is in the hospital with her father and brother protecting her.

They wake up and head for the airport the next morning, but are exposed by Sister Mary. They steal a utility vehicle and drive toward the airport, pursued by Sisters Liz and Mary, Morley and Abbott, and eventually Casey and the Triads. The chase tightens as departure looms.

Brian forces Charlie to take Faith to safety, and Brian finally tells Faith the truth. Charlie stalls the pursuing gang while Brian and Faith flee the hospital together, seeking safety. Casey is arrested, though a briefcase of money is lost during the chaos.

Sister Liz and Sister Mary recover the lost briefcase and decide to fund a drug rehabilitation clinic with the money. The nuns chemistry turns hopeful even amid the gangland chaos. Liz leads the nuns in prayer, thanking God for sending the Sisters Euphemia and Inviolata and asking for guidance.

Brian, Charlie, and Faith reach the airport, check in, and are warned by an airport policeman about their presence. They board a British Airways 747, disguised as attendants, and finally escape the United Kingdom for Brazil. The trio envisions a new life beyond the borders of their old world.
