Nukie

Two alien siblings, Nukie and Miko, crash on Earth and are separated. Nukie ends up in the African savanna, while Miko is captured by the Space Foundation in the United States. The separation marks the onset of their parallel journeys.

Miko is kept by the Space Foundation and studied by scientists. During experiments, the team discovers that Miko is made of pure energy rather than a conventional organism. The discovery hints at extraordinary powers that could help or hinder the mission to reunite with Nukie.

From across the globe, Miko reaches Nukie telepathically, informing him that he is being held captive. Nukie realizes they must find a way to reunite and seeks allies on Earth. The message fuels Nukie's resolve to navigate the dangerous human world.

Dr. Glynn dispatches Dr. Eric Harvey to Nairobi to investigate the other crash site. He begins assembling information and resources to locate Nukie and understand the alien presence. The mission ties Earthly authorities to the ongoing search.

In the Space Foundation lab, scientists confirm Miko's true nature as a being of pure energy. This revelation changes the potential methods to study or free Nukie. It also raises ethical questions about handling such a powerful entity.

Nukie makes contact with two local children, Tiko and Toki, who can understand him. He asks for their help in finding America, trusting them to keep his presence secret. The children grapple with the reality of a talking alien.

Nukie comes across Charlie, a talking chimpanzee, who speaks with him but knows nothing of America. The encounter adds a touch of whimsy to the perilous journey and hints at unexpected human-animal bonds. Nukie continues to press for help.

The Corporal closes in on Nukie and fires, but Nukie teleports out of danger. He then saves Tiko and Toki from a mountain lion, earning their trust. This act of bravery strengthens the trio's commitment to finding a path to America.

Nukie tries to commandeer Dr. Harvey's helicopter to reach America but ends up crashing it in the rough terrain. The crash delays the pursuit and tests Nukie's resilience. The boy trio's alliance remains the key to continuing the journey.

In the Space Foundation, E.D.D.I grows curious about Nukie’s whereabouts and begins scanning for him. Miko befriends the supercomputer and persuades it to search for Nukie, setting in motion a synchronized Earth-and-energy-search.

Tiko and Toki are banished by the tribal chief for bringing Nukie into their world, but they later reunite with Nukie. The reunion deepens Nukie's bond with the tribe as he expresses disappointment at their separation. The humans’ pursuit continues in the background.

Toki discovers Nukie imprisoned in a cage and frees him at a trading post with Charlie. The Corporal pursues them, but Sister Anne distracts him long enough to escape. Nukie and friends flee to continue their journey toward America.
