Kanzo Hattori, an Iga ninja apprentice, goes to Edo for his final training and must protect his nine‑year‑old master, Kenichi. Upholding the ninja code, he probes why rival Koga ninjas thrive as Iga fade, while unconscious victims appear marked with the Koga crest and a nearby throwing knife. Kenichi, an introvert with a crush on Midori, gains confidence watching Hattori’s resolve.
