Based on Astrid Lindgren’s ’Emil of Lönneberga’, this Latvian film follows mischievous yet kind‑hearted boy Emil, whose playful deeds aim to help others but often become pranks. Disapproving family locks him in his father’s tool shed after each stunt. The phrase ‘the main idea is to keep your feet warm’ entered Latvian culture as a saying.
