Emil Svensson lives on a charming Småland farm with his parents, sister Ida, farmhand Alfred and maid Lina. A lively boy, he follows every impulse with good intentions, yet his mischief—getting his head stuck in a soup bowl, hoisting Ida up a flagpole, and organizing a grand Christmas for the poor—often tests his short‑tempered father's patience. He spends time in the woodshed carving figurines while waiting for his father to calm down.
